IDEA TO IMPACT SERIES

The Idea to Impact Series aims to overcome barriers that inhibit access to business resources, capital, and networks for historically underrepresented entrepreneurs. This ten part series will primarily address the needs of early-stage Black, Indigenous, People of Color, veterans, and female-identifying entrepreneurs in Rhode Island.

The Series is planned to include ten modules and office hours opportunities from September 2023 to May 2024. The Series will provide workshops, office hours and innovation ecosystem networking opportunities to early-stage companies and founders that are building businesses in Rhode Island. These hybrid sessions will be streamed on Zoom and take place live during Venture Cafe’s flagship program, “Thursday Gathering”, located in District Hall at CIC Providence in Providence, RI.

Sample Program:

  • 4:30 – 7:30 PM – Innovation on Tap: Complimentary beverages, snacks and networking with the broader Innovation Community.
  • 5:30 – 6:30 PM – Idea to Impact Module: Participants engage in the Idea to Impact Module hosted by an industry expert related to the topic at hand. Modules to be hosted in-person with option for virtual.
  • 6:30 – 7:30 PM – Office Hours: Participants have the opportunity to work with a member of the Venture Cafe team OR member from the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to get assistance in applying to become MBE Certified with the State of Rhode Island.
