Join Venture Café Providence for a Thursday Gathering as we kick off the new Idea to Impact Series! The first module of this ten part series will be focused on Design Thinking, led by Roberta Dombrowski of Learn Mindfully. As entrepreneurs, our days are filled with ambiguity. We’re often asked to make decisions based on gut instinct or by talking to customers. But this isn’t enough. You need to understand the potential business impact and evidence needed to inform your decisions. Then use different techniques to gather evidence, craft compelling insights, and drive innovation.

 Learn the basics around design thinking, including why it’s important, and how to get started including:

• Define and discuss the value that design thinking provides organizations
• Recognize design thinking may not be needed
• Identify the phases of design thinking
• Recognize techniques on how to get started practicing empathy, observation, and interviewing

About Idea to Impact

The Venture Café Providence “Idea to Impact” Series aims to overcome barriers that inhibit access to business resources, capital, and networks for historically underrepresented entrepreneurs. The Series will primarily address the needs of early-stage Black, Indigenous, People of Color, veterans, and female-identifying entrepreneurs in Rhode Island who continue to be underserved. The Series is planned to include ten modules and office hours opportunities from September 2023 to May 2024. The Series will provide workshops, office hours and innovation ecosystem networking opportunities to early-stage companies and founders that are building businesses in Rhode Island.
