Join us for an engaging and insightful panel discussion on “Diversifying RI’s BlueTech Community,” where we will explore the dynamic intersection of innovation, inclusivity, and economic growth within Rhode Island’s burgeoning BlueTech sector. This event will feature distinguished speakers who are at the forefront of fostering diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.

Speakers:

Nina Pande, Executive Director for Skills for RI’s Future, will share her expertise in workforce development and her initiatives to create pathways for underrepresented groups to enter and thrive in the BlueTech field.

Nishita Roy-Pope, Founder & CEO of Tribe Academy, will discuss her innovative approaches to education and training, focusing on equipping a diverse range of students with the skills needed to succeed in BlueTech and other STEM careers.

Pete Rumsey, Chief Business Development Officer of the URI Research Foundation and URI Ventures, will provide insights into how the University of Rhode Island is driving BlueTech innovation and the importance of creating inclusive opportunities within this cutting-edge industry.

This panel aims to address the critical need for diversity in BlueTech, explore strategies for creating more inclusive environments, and highlight the economic and social benefits of a diversified workforce. Attendees will gain valuable perspectives on how to support and engage with efforts to diversify Rhode Island’s BlueTech community, fostering a more vibrant and innovative industry landscape.
