ABOUT THE SESSION

A career in digital game development is not only lucrative… it’s a growing industry for an exciting career! Did you know that even health and wellness outcomes can be improved through digital games (ie “gamification”)?

You might be scratching your head wondering what health and wellness have to do with digital gaming. Join us on January 25th to see firsthand how high school students collaborated with RIDIGI on this transformational initiative that both enhances your health and wellness through gamification AND teaches hands on digital skills.

RIDIGI aims to make Rhode Island the digital hub by developing talent, assisting startups, and attracting the digital tech industry to our community. Students are empowered to explore careers in computer science, cybersecurity, digital game design, “gamification,” IT, networking, and other digital technologies.

  • Demo & Info Tables – Chat with program partners and test out some of the digital games.
  • Conversation Corner with Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos – Sabina Matos will be present to discuss the importance of workforce development programs, and will be awarding students official citations for their completion of the program.
