A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Julia Broome has over ten years of experience in Hospitality, Catering, and Events. She received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (with a Concentration in Marketing) from Boston University in 2009.
Julia began her career in the Hospitality industry at the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau. It was there that Julia worked to connect meeting planners and tourists with unique venues, restaurants, and attractions throughout the city. From there, she began booking and detailing events (such as weddings, products launches, Patriot’s Game Day VIP parties, and concerts) for Showcase Live at Patriot Place in Foxboro, MA. Her excitement for the industry continued to grow as she helped open Plainridge Park Casino – the first casino in Massachusetts. Julia performed all aspects of hiring and training staff in the restaurants, developing her own Catering Department, starting a committee to support vendor diversity, and strengthened ties with the local community through fundraising and sponsorship.
Most recently, she worked as the Account Manager for Global Experience Specialists (GES) where she oversaw the domestic and international tradeshow, meeting and event programs for over 50 clients. At the beginning of the pandemic, Julia was laid off from her position at GES. She began working on a business plan for her ideal restaurant and opened Kin Southern Table and Bar just one year later. Kin has just celebrated their Two Year Anniversary and look forward to many more.
She is passionate about bringing people together and helping build communities through service. That is one of the many reasons why Julia became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Julia is also a foodie, lover of the arts and reality TV show superfan.
