At Composite Energy Technologies I help the design team with concept drawings, lamination maps, and brainstorming solutions to make the impossible possible. I started working for this company last year as a Composites Technician where I had to fabricate and assemble composite parts. Responsibilities included lamination, vacuum bagging, oven operation, and sanding of composite parts according to blueprint dimensions and tolerances. I enrolled in, and completed, a Composites Technician Apprenticeship program where I had to have a certain amount of work hours doing different roles, showing off the amount of skill and education I had. This then got me promoted to Associate Painter after being with this company for four months. I expressed that I wanted to learn and do more, and that I had previous work experience with painting and creating blueprints for 3D models. I had an interview with the Senior Naval Architect and one of the Lead Designers, Sabrina Kanaley, where I got to tell them about my skills and experience and how I would be a great asset to their team. After a year with being with this company I got promoted to Associate Designer. I don't know where I will be in a year from now, but I do know that I have the drive, skill and motivation to keep moving forward in pursuing more advanced career opportunities.
